Stingle Wins Inaugural Quast Consulting & Testing Limited Buggy Challenge

Crandon, Wisc. (August 12, 2014) - The final race of the "Off-Road Super Challenge" that was held this past weekend at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway was the Quast Consulting & Testing Limited Buggy Challenge. Twenty-two MORR member Light Buggy and Single Buggy competitors competed together for over $6000 in cash and products. The competition was close, but after ten laps around the "Big House" short-course, Light Buggy racer, Greg Stingle took home the top prize.

The race which saw a dozen Light Buggy racers and ten Single Buggy competitors line up for a shortened Crandon land rush start. Then the competitors, just like the weekend's scheduled TORC Sportsman rounds of racing, completed ten laps around the one mile long Crandon short track. The Light Buggy racers were given a thirty second head start and if all went perfect, the top drivers in each class would battle on the final lap for the top spot.

The race had one restart due to a broken rear stub axle at the start from the Light Buggy of Brian Holtger. The second start went off without a hitch as Greg Stingle was the leader of the Light Buggy pack right from the start.

When the Single Buggy drivers left thirty seconds later, Mark Steinhardt went to the head of the pack. Then all eyes were on Steinhardt, watching to see if the reigning Single Buggy champion could run down Greg Stingle.

Whether it was the time delay, the number of laps, or the perfect track conditions created by the Crandon track crew, none of the faster Single Buggy racers could catch the top three Light Buggy competitors.

After ten laps, Greg Stingle won the Inaugural Quast Consulting & Testing Limited Buggy Challenge. Second Place went to Light Buggy driver Matt Mullen, and third went to Light Buggy driver Derek Tilkens. Mark Steinhardt was the first Single Buggy competitor to finish in fourth place as Billy Buth in another Light Buggy completed the top five finishers.

Afterwards every driver that entered thought the race was a success and hoped the challenge race would be back in 2015.
