Beauchamp Wins Round Three

Stays in the Hunt for Championship
Escanaba, Mich. (July 7, 2014) - After a hectic yet successful weekend in Bark River, Danny Beauchamp Racing headed to Crandon hoping all its engine issues were behind them. The black and orange Ford F-150 looked like it was back on track to defend its Championship title as the team landed on the top step of the podium on Saturday and then followed up the performance with a top five finish on Sunday.

With only fourteen days to prepare for the second weekend of the Sportsman TORC Series presented by AMSOIL, the crew back at the shop spent as much time as possible ensuring the powerplant on the #826 K & M Industrial/Coplan's Iron & Metal/Hill Top RV Superstore/JC's Mobile Wash/UP CARS/Splash of Color/Pike Distributors Ford F-150 had every nut and bolt properly tightened and adjusted. After replacing the engine at Bark River in just a few short hours, the additional attention was at the top of the maintenance prep list.

Saturday's Round Three eight lap race could not have gone any better. Beauchamp lead the field right from the beginning. The land rush start saw the #826 Ford charge into Turn One at nearly eighty miles an hour with the rest of the eighteen truck field behind him as he headed for the Barn Turn.

During the rest of the eight lap race, Beauchamp held off a couple of challenges, but never relinquished the lead. The victory was the team's second win in a row.

A quick celebration was had during dinner, but everyone knew that another solid run on Sunday was needed to really get back into the championship hunt.

Sunday's Round Four race looked like the competition had stepped up their game. The land rush start had Beauchamp coming out of Turn One will a little contact which put him midpack as the field came down the front straightaway. The closeness of the racing really made it difficult to get into any rhythm. Regardless Beauchamp pressed on, made a few passes and finished the race in fifth place.

"Sunday's race showed how important a holeshot can be here at Crandon," remarked Danny Beauchamp. "Both days the truck ran perfect. The engine ran strong all weekend. My guys really did an awesome job getting this truck ready in such a short time. Saturday's win really gave us the boost we needed to realize we still have a shot at the championship."

After the weekend in Crandon, Danny Beauchamp is currently third in the Super Stock Truck Championship.

The next race on the TORC Sportsman Series schedule is

the "Throwdown in the U.P Part 2" on July 19-20 in Bark River, Michigan
